The Morrison Government has been caught out inflating the jobs figures associated with Budget measures by nearly one million jobs, but still won’t admit it.

The Morrison Government has been caught out inflating the jobs figures associated with Budget measures by nearly one million jobs, but still won’t admit it.

Scott Morrison’s big promises on jobs haven’t even lasted until the end of Budget month.

He’s a JobFaker not a JobMaker.

In Question Time today, the Treasurer refused to admit that this JobFaker plan had been exposed by his own Treasury Department:

  • Out of the claimed 450,000 places, the Hiring Credit is only expected to create 45,000 new jobs;
  • Out of the claimed 130,000 jobs from its Technology Roadmap, none are included in the Budget; and
  • Out of the claimed 80,000 direct and 300,000 indirect jobs from its manufacturing announcement, none are included in the Budget.

Scott Morrison and Josh Frydenberg must come clean and admit that their big announcements about job creation are a sham.

In the deepest and most damaging recession in almost a century, the Australian people deserve a Government that chases jobs not headlines.
