FRYDENBERG AT THE WHEEL OF ‘PORK AND RIDE’

Josh Frydenberg is up to his neck in the Morrison Government’s shameless $660 million ‘pork and ride’ cash splash, promising four new car parks in his own electorate but delivering none.

The Treasurer himself allocated a tenth of this rorted scheme to his own electorate and he’s been sprung promising hundreds of new parking spaces for a train station that will soon no longer exist.

Josh Frydenberg is the co-conductor of the Morrison Government’s gravy train.

In Question Time today, the Treasurer conceded that more than two years after his election-eve pledge “they haven’t been built as yet” and construction mightn’t even begin for another 18 months.

The ANAO report tells us that the Prime Minister personally signed off on 27 commuter car park projects the day before entering caretaker for the 2019 election. Now we know the Treasurer was up to his neck in the scandal as well.

It has been revealed -

  • Around 10 per cent ($65 million) of the total funds committed for commuter car parks at the last election were in the Treasurer’s own electorate;

  • Not one of the four commuter carparks the Treasurer promised his community is under construction or has been approved by local planning authorities; and

  • One $15 million carpark is never likely to be built – because the train station it is mean to service is unlikely to exist.

No wonder the Liberals and Nationals have racked up $1,000,000,000,000 in debt when Scott Morrison and Josh Frydenberg are presiding over the most wasteful government since Federation.

Josh Frydenberg’s Budget is weighed down with waste and riddled with rorts, including pork and ride, sports rorts, safer communities rorts, dodgy land deals, and billions of dollars in JobKeeper paid to companies that didn’t need it.
